Claire Shores
Client Services Director
Claire Shores is both our Client Services Director and Marketing Director. She was educated at home and graduated from Holmes Community College, where she played on the tennis team, and Delta State University. In addition to handling marketing duties for the company and its brokers, she is a highly certified Fitness Trainer with clients in the Jackson metropolitan area.
Gary D. Lawshe
Senior Broker
Gary D. Lawshe is a senior agent covering much of Central Mississippi. Mr. Lawshe graduated from Memphis State University and began a long and successful sales career that eventually led him to become a licensed insurance broker. Along the way, he married Suzy, and they raised two sons that now have children of their own. Gary and Suzy live in Brandon and work together as a team, meeting people in person and helping them find good, affordable coverage.
Jerry M. Pinkston
Senior Broker
Jerry M. Pinkston has been a licensed insurance broker since 1985. He graduated from Pillow Academy in Greenwood and attended Christian Brothers University in Memphis and the University of Mississippi. At Pillow, he was an All-State basketball player and a North Mississippi All Star. His classmates named him “Mr. Pillow Academy.” Today, Mr. Pinkston covers the Mississippi Delta and conducts business the “old-fashioned” way by introducing himself in person to offer his services.
Tom Taylor
Senior Broker
Tom Taylor is a Senior Broker serving in Central Mississippi. Residing in Flora since 2011 with his wife, Cindy, and two sons, Matt and Rhett, he is a retired educator and school administrator who spent over 30 years in the public and private sector. As a Mississippi State graduate, Tom enjoys spending time with his family at sporting events, youth sports activities, outdoor yard work, and fellowship and worship with his church family.
Anna R. Shores
Accounting Director
Company Vice President and Director of Accounting and Finance is Anna R. Shores. She graduated from Hickory Ridge Academy and Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, La. with a degree in Home Economics. Mrs. Shores is also a licensed insurance broker. She moved to Mississippi in 1993 when she married a Mississippi Man, the company’s president, Ray.
Gloria T. Pennington
Senior Broker
Currently, Gloria Pennington services clients in many cities and counties in North Mississippi, and in Central Mississippi she focuses on Pearl. Liberty Assurance Group® has many clients there and throughout Rankin County. Mrs. Pennington is licensed in Arkansas, Alabama, Mississippi, Tennessee, and Texas.
Ray H. Shores
President
Ray H. Shores graduated from Manchester Academy in Yazoo City and Mississippi State University. In 1980 he became an agent for Combined Insurance Company, where he learned to “cold-call” and “knock on doors.” Along the way, he married a Louisiana Woman, Anna. He was a manager for Pennsylvania Life until 2005, when he left to form Liberty Assurance Group®.
